In march 2023 I went to see my nurse practitioner after having recurrent tonsillitis. She referred me for a neck scan (ultrasound) as she thought my neck was rather swollen, this is where they found a nodule thy3/4 so a biopsy was taken. On my 20th Birthday in April I was given the results that papillary thyroid cancer cancer was found, a plan was then made to have a full thyroidectomy in May.
It is a year on since my operation and I have beaten cancer.
Please check for lumps and bumps, it’s more important than you think and it can really happen to anyone!
