Routine check ups every three months in clinic will follow the Challenge scan during which you will have a neck exam and blood taken to check thyroxine, thyroglobulin and calcium (if required).
You will receive a letter to inform you of your results.
Currently most patients will have another Challenge scan done about 18 months after the first. However, this is under review and may change in the future.
Following this, if all is well, you will attend for a check up every six months and after five years this will be annually.
