I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer with follicular variants in December 2007, aged thirty-nine.
I had a partial thyroidectomy and then completion surgery a few weeks later, followed by RAI. I am currently well and happy to talk to anyone else who is having similar experiences.
I have spent my career ignoring advice about not working with children or animals. I was originally a primary school teacher and have worked on various projects to get children to experience the natural world.
At the moment, I'm working on a project to encourage more children to cycle. I come from a farming family and spend lots of my spare time with sheep and cows.
I enjoy walking, horse-riding, canoeing - anything outdoors really. I am married to Stuart and live in Coventry.
The best way to contact me is by email.
